Counselor In Training (C.I.T.)
Program
This is a special program for Lake Forest students who
are currently enrolled in grades 7th through 10th. The
C.I.T.s are volunteer workers for Recreation Department
summer programs. Most summer programs will meet June 16–
August 1. C.I.T.s are required to attend training during the
week of June12. All those interested in participating in the
C.I.T program must fill out the application and be
interviewed, including former C.I.T.s. Due to the large
number of applicants, participants will be chosen based on
their interview. Unfortunately not all applicants will
necessarily be given a position. The purpose of this program
is to help the older youth of Lake Forest develop leadership
skills through a summer camp work experience. The many
skills learned by the C.I.T. will aid the individual in
obtaining future paying job opportunities. A $75 fee will be
implemented this year to cover administrative and training
costs.
A C.I.T. packet
(41k -4 pages) of more detailed information, including a
